Zhenghua Park Overview and Features

One of the most beautiful nature reserves you can find in Bukit Panjang is Zhenghua Park. This nature park is established to conserve nature’s biodiversity. This place is the home of several species of birds, flowers, and trees. 

The Zhenghua Park nature reserve is safe for flora and fauna because it is located between the forested areas and natural reserves. So, every time you will jog or walk in this area, you will surely encounter birds of different colours.

As years pass by, several plant species were incorporated into the nature reserve. All these are made to give the visitors and locals to appreciate the natural biodiversity. 

Each improvement in the park is made for habitat enhancement. This keeps the visitors enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of the reserve. Beyond that, the area is also planted with native plant species that are mostly visited by butterflies and birds. Some bird species you can see in this area include the Jejawi and Tembusu.

The main goal of this park is to conserve nature and preserve the different plant and bird species. With that in mind, you can observe that the park promotes biodiversity. 

The area houses more than 30 bird species. These include the Long-tailed Parakeet, Greater Racket-tailed Drongo, Pink-necked Green Pigeon, Flameback Woodpecker, and the Olive-backed Sunbird. Beyond that, you can also encounter monitor lizards, squirrels, long-tailed macaques, and more when you enter the reserve.


The Zhenghua Park turns on its lightings for 12 hours, starting from 7 pm to 7 am. 

The Zhenghua Park is composed of 17.3 land hectares with more than 2.5 kilometres of extension. 

There are several things that you need to keep in mind while you are in the park. Remember, the nature reserve is a smoke-free area. Thus, smoking is strictly prohibited. Second, if you will wander the area with dogs, make sure to leash them and pick up their poops. Entering the area during stormy weather as extreme winds and rains could cut down tree branches. So, make sure to check the weather before driving to the area.
